Why play cello?
The cello gives you the versatility to play rich deep tones, while also being able to play high sweet melodies like a violin. The cello is easy on the ears. It can be a great stand out solo instrument, or blend in a compliment any ensemble, be it rock or classical. Everyone loves the cello.
Why play bass?
There's nothing quite like filling a room with the thick vibrations of the bass. Aptly named, the bass provides the musical anchor of any good ensemble. It lays down the beat, gives the feeling of the song and supports the other instruments in the group. The bass can also be played melodically and provides good foundational musical knowledge that can easily transition to lead guitar.

The piano is one of the most widely learned instruments because of it's accessability and versatility in musical styles. Because it is not at technically difficult to play as other instruments, the music is often more interesting and complex to play. The piano is a great instrument to start on since it lends itself toward learning the basics of music in note-reading, theory and coordination of rhythm and timing.
